Net rate
A net rate is a wholesale price with no commission included; the reseller adds its own markup before selling.
A net rate is a wholesale price that contains no commission. The distributor sells to the reseller at net, and the reseller decides its own margin before presenting a retail price to the traveler.
Net-rate models contrast with commissionable models, where the retail price is fixed and the reseller earns a defined percentage. Net pricing gives resellers margin control: they can price aggressively for volume, bundle products into packages, or hold margin on scarce inventory.
The operational detail that matters in an API context is settlement. When every vertical settles from one prepaid balance at net rates, reconciliation is one ledger instead of a spreadsheet of commission statements. That is the model behind wallet and billing on traveldistro.
